I set them often, but then fail to come through, and they end up falling on the wayside. I'm still working on that though!

Great job on the cookies! I'm sure they'll all appreciate getting cookies on Thanksgiving! Maybe you could share the recipe you use for the flooding part? :)Laurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11075273010146674296noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7614746678835590944.post-30531264639180995132010-11-18T08:26:51.689-08:002010-11-18T08:26:51.689-08:00HI Joy,

Yep, you did not quite make your goals, but, you have done a great job. I am proud of you and your commitment to your own health and those that are less fortunate. The decision to do that is so remarkable and you certainly gave it your best effort. You know, that's the only thing we can really ever do: just try our best. We weren't meant to succeed in everything we do (in particular, your weight loss goal) because remember, if we did - the rewards wouldn't be nearly as sweet. I feel that you have done beautifully and am very, very proud of you.Ellenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09377845818567149847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7614746678835590944.post-40444119436883942512010-11-17T12:28:21.933-08:002010-11-17T12:28:21.933-08:00wow...you have been So busy!!!! But afte...I believe in setting goals...absolutely! But after about 1/2 a year of losing weight I realized my average weight loss was about a pound a week... not the 2 pounds a week I so desperately wanted it to be. At that point I really had to reassess my goals and make them in the realistic range. This REALLY helped me to not be dissapointed, which for me, often lead to self-sabotage. Remember every little pound adds up. They are all important.

Another idea is to set a non-scale related goal, like number of workouts, or tracking food, etc. etc. whatever you think will help you be succesfully.

You are doing awesome!Sarah - Fat Little Legshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14480551907580222028noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7614746678835590944.post-74748972392130778992010-11-17T09:16:22.069-08:002010-11-17T09:16:22.069-08:00Great job on the cookies. I seem to think that I can do better/more than I actually can. I probably would have tried to make 500 cookies alone for instance.

If I had 1,000 things to do and did 999 of them well, I would focus only on the one thing not done well. So, I am very glad to see that you are reminding yourself of the things that you have done.

No matter what the weight is gone. The rest will follow. It may take longer than you like, but it will definitely follow, if you keep working your plan, and you will.
LoriLorihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06348740719854853661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7614746678835590944.post-36743635208998980332010-11-17T09:00:16.810-08:002010-11-17T09:00:16.810-08:00I'm a big believer in setting goals, but have ...I'm a big believer in setting goals, but have been learning the hard way that goals with deadlines may not be the best thing. I wrote about this recently in a post. The only thing we can really control is our choices, our thoughts, and attitude. The fact that you've been able to do so much AND still take care of yourself speaks louder than reaching a goal ever could!!! You're an amazing woman.Kimberlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13695109793957198216noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7614746678835590944.post-61982271223157706162010-11-17T08:42:44.727-08:002010-11-17T08:42:44.727-08:00You have done FANTASTICALLY! So yes, I continue to set goals and I think we should always have something for which to strive, but in the past when I failed to reach a set goal at a certain time was when I generally began backsliding. I've now learned to try having a back-up plan usually in the form of a supportive person for when a goal I've set is obviously not going to be met.

Great job on the cookies and what an admirable quest! You are obviously a caring person.Sharonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09408463925646609263noreply@blogger.com
