I definitely find having a positive attitude helps; otherwise, it's so easy to get caught in this cycle of seeing things as worse than they are and beating yourself up for no reason. To quote the great philosophical text of our time, Finding Nemo, "just keep swimming." :)

As you continue to become healthier, keep in mind that weight loss isn't just about what we we eat or what exercise we do—it's also about why we do or don't do the things we know we should do to become better. It's easy for us to get caught in bad habits like eating because we're stressed out or having a bad day. It's easy to say that we can skip the gym today because we're seeking variety and can't stand getting on that elliptical machine for the tenth time. It's a way of filling our different human needs.

I'd encourage you to take a look at the video in my link of Beverly, who lost 230 lbs. without any surgery or weight loss "magic bullets" aside from diet and exercise. In it, our different human needs are explained along with ways to become healthier. It's not that long, and you might find it to be pretty interesting.Courtney at RRIhttp://bit.ly/RVsSYUnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7614746678835590944.post-1870880332892796732012-08-29T00:57:47.147-07:002012-08-29T00:57:47.147-07:00Hi Lovely to see you posting. What a great summer ...Hi Lovely to see you posting. What a great summer you are having.

Regarding acne .... I know this will sound weird but I have been reading how wheat can cause acne. I've heard it other places but there are a few more details in the book Wheat Belly by Dr. William Davis. If you haven't read the book yet it could be worth getting hold of.

Great that you got rid of that gain promptly.

Blessings.MargieAnnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05591436464085450834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7614746678835590944.post-27857639452605899962012-08-28T11:09:57.212-07:002012-08-28T11:09:57.212-07:00You need those little indulgences now and then. Do...You need those little indulgences now and then. Don't beat yourself up over them just get back in the groove.

I think I would have passed out to see a 15 pound jump in the scales. I've had mine jump 3 when I've had too much sodium but I can't imagine 15. I am so glad that you didn't let that derail you and you got it all right back off.

That 199 on the scale is a huge milestone. It is such a mental thing, or it was for me. To get under 200 was one of my early goals. I crossed over and back several times before I got down to stay.

You'll get there.
loriLorihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06348740719854853661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7614746678835590944.post-23040962212319797942012-08-28T08:24:25.266-07:002012-08-28T08:24:25.266-07:00Hi Joy,

Time to get back on track for me too. Just trying to keep things balanced with family fun and staying on track.
Yes I have a positive attitude today despite things going on like a sewer backing up and my in laws are coming and it's my hubby's b-day. Oh well that's life :)David and Carolynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17921347445113743943noreply@blogger.com
