Well.....Hello!

It's been a while! How are you Friends? I hope well. I have not had a chance to check in with your yet. I hope to visit soon!

Little update......

Still battling, just a little. But I'm feeling a lot better and more like myself. I've really been struggling the past few months...I did not totally abandoned my goals or my heath and fitness plan, but I did have some set backs along the way. Lets just say.... about 11 pounds of setbacks, and some injuries and some head stuff I had to work out ! Can I just say....I kind of lost myself for a while!

Frankly I got really tired of the journey. I got real tired of the pushing and doing and going and stretching and growing and learning and blogging and drinking water and tracking food and exercising and running and running and running and and and and and...I just got tired of it all!!!

So I stopped!!!

Most of it anyway. For a while, I did not track food or watch every bite that went into my mouth. I did not exercise 5-6 days per week. I did not obsess over the scale. I did not do much of anything about my health and fitness....for the most part.

And I gained back 11 pounds for my efforts. GASP!!!! Shocking!! I know!!!

It was not all bad...I did not abandon every thing all the time. Just was not consistent with my plan.

The things I did do....

I rested my body. I've had slight injuries to my back and feet for a while. So it was nice to let my body rest and heal. It needed it!

I did some healing of my mind. I quit obsessing about the journey...

I did reconnect with my Hubby, family and friends. Geez I did not know I was all about me for so long.

I did start running again and finished a 15k race and I ran my personal best! Really happy about that.

I did drop 5 of those pounds and I'm feeling a lot better!!!

I did get back to the gym ~ working with my trainer and taking classes!

I did get back to drinking my water....tracking my food....exercising and all the things I was doing before....

I'm feeling a lot better!!

The past few months have not been pleasant. I really really really don't ever want to go back to that place again. Frankly it was frightening! It's amazing how easy it was to go back to my old ways. It was like visiting an old friend and not a very good one at that!! It was awful to have had an extra 11 pounds on my body. I don't ever want to do that again!! Ever!

So now....I'm back on track!!!!

Whew!!

Have you been in this place before? Are you there now?

No Fear!!

  3. Lovely to "see" you again. I think we all have times when we need to stop and recover and get life back into a healthy perspective, especially if we become goal driven. It isn't fun but unless we do we dig our hole deeper and deeper.

The best thing that has happened for John and I in recent years was when he decided to go Wheat Free according to the Wheat Belly book. We are on the same planet foodwise. What a change that makes although it wasn't something I knowingly stressed about.

All the best as you continue, healthier and stronger in every way.

    Blessings

  4. So glad to hear that you're back on track! I know from my own experience that going back to old ways is just a bite away. Take care and hang in there.

  5. Yes I have been there and you feel desperate and helpless to get out all at the same time! I'm glad you are back on track. I am in uncharted territory for me...in a good way. Can't wait to read about your adventure!
