So Special

Geez, thank you guys for your sweet & encouraging comments. Really every one of them made me cry. It's amazing the support we get here!!

Went to the doctor today. She did not give me anything for the pain in my back or tennis elbow. She advised I should rest, take ibuprofen etc...I will do that. I told her about my mouth, dry patches & pimples and said it's probably from the stress I have been under. Again, she advised me to rest and take it easy! So my prescription...Rest and take it easy!!!

She did confirm there is something going on with my ears and recommended another specialist. Geez I hate that! Also, she asked me a ton of questions, gave me a "thorough" exam, gave me a tetanus shot, burned off two mole things and took my blood. I have to tell you I felt a little roughed up when I left!

Anyway, I do feel a little better today! Attitude at least - body not so much! Couple more days I should be back to normal!!

This body is tough to take care of. So much to do. Here I was thinking that pushing myself to my extreme was a good thing. However, my body speaks to me when I've gone too far. I need to listen a little sooner, so I don't have these types of melt downs. Honestly this is why I'm so fat now. Prior to my new focus on my health, I would have quite by now. Managing this body is hard!! Fortunately because of what I've learned and experienced this past year and because of the awesome support I have I'm still on task. Although a little cautious with the exercise. So I'm not quitting!! Whew!

I was watching a movie preview and heard this statement that I thought was great and kind of resonates with where I am today....

"My focus needs a little more focus"!!

For me that means...EVERY DAY I NEED TO...Eat the "right and healthy" kinds of food, drink all my water, exercise ~ push myself, but not to fatigue (that causes injury for me), get plenty of rest, reduce my stress and HAVE SOME FUN!!

So my friends, thanks again for your support. You are awesome!!

Keep going with your journey, don't stop ever!! And remember....Keep focused!!

  1. So, so glad you are feeling spritually better today. Every day is a new day and every once in awhile we all deserve a little pity party.

I don't know much about your tennis elbow and I'm certainly not a doctor, but my experience with it is - I had tennis elbow from constantly lifting heavy stuff at work the wrong way. Fast forward, suddenly I can't even reach up to the cupboard to get out a plate. Tons of rest, anti-inflammatories, physio (to the tune of $700.00 out of my pocket above what medical insurance pays) - NOTHING. So I go back to my doctor and he gives me a cortisone shot and ta da - instant relief. I've never had a reoccurance and I'm careful about lifting. I'm not one to recommend cortisone ('cuz it's not like it's good for you). Something to ask you doctor, perhaps.

And you are right, don't stop...keep on going.

  3. The easiest thing to get into a rhythm is to make a plan and then stick to it.

    Plan your meals.
    + Buy the food.
+ Eat the calories per day you have set for yourself and no more.
    = The plan stuck to.

    Plan your fitness.
    + Find your tennis shoes.
    + Do your fitness.
    = The plan stuck to.

Once you do it enough then it becomes second nature and not hard at all. Then there is no stress, there is just the doing.

  5. Glad that you're feeling a bit better. I think this time of the year is hard on us. The aftermath of Christmas can be a letdown, and if you're having physical pain, winter can be all the more dreary!

Good for you going to the Dr. and taking care of yourself. I need to do that, but I tend to stay away because I don't want to get on the scale. Pretty dumb, huh?

Hang in there and take care of yourself.

  6. You know joy, I know what you mean. I have been exercising DAILY for over amonth now..not pushing myself too hard or anything, but the cumulative affect was bad. I depleted myself and wasn't doing enough to ensure I stayed healthy. balance. balance. balance. And sounds like you got a lot knocked out at the doctors. Good job.

  7. I haven't had an actual physical done in about 3 years but after reading of others taking care of their health needs I guess I should make that appointment. No matter what it shows at least I will be proactive. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and glad you are looking after you.
